Suburban Vibes have been changing the way people experience live music since 2016. Their first show came about when Nathan Hawes was seeking a host to throw an intimate event for his tour, supporting on the night was Riley Pearce and after this event they realised they had created something special. Their shows have dedicated regulars and in 2019 they had to move from backyards into larger venues as tickets were selling out too quickly. Post COVID isolation, Suburban Vibes organised a string of 'Winter Warehouse' shows at the Assembly Yard which all had incredible local lineups and sold out in record time. Their largest event to date was hosting east coast act Kim Churchill and even with a crowd of 250, you could still hear a pin drop.
Toasty Tunes are also passionate about supporting local music, the platform was created to promote local support acts and Perth's emerging artists. Starting as a local gig guide and playlist in 2019, the blog evolved to showcase live gig reviews as well as promoting and reviewing new releases and running artist interviews. One year after their launch, COVID-19 hit and the gig guide was sadly taken down temporarily. Toasty Tunes were the first platform in Perth to run a series of online 'Couch Concerts' during isolation and threw their first 'There's Something in the Water' event at the Indian Ocean Hotels re-opening over two sold out nights. Their gig guide and blog are proving to be valuable to the artists and punters of Perth, now with a few national readers.
